Ahmed Yassin is Climate advocate , Marine plastic researcher and the Country manager of Fishing for litter project in Egypt and the MENA region. He finished his B.S.C of Electromechanical Engineering, Alexandria University and he is now working as solar ambassador for solar city co. and is a part time Solar engineer in Egypt. He established a new platform called SOLAREGY to network all factories in Alexandria on a special basis to use clean energy as alternative to fossil fuels. Ahmed is working extensively at the development field through various programmes that promote development and SDGs. Ahmed is the project director of world bank/ PROBLUE project in Alexandria. Ahmed has been appointed as the EU CLIMATE PACT ambassador 2021-2023. Ahmed was awarded to be part of the U.S. Department of state international visitor leadership Programme & The EUVP Programme in 2020 regarding his leadership and influence in civil society in development and Environment. He launched a powerful Green Alliance that empowered several green NGOs and initiatives in Alexandria city. Moreover, he launched 3 projects in 2020/2021 to protect the north coast of Egypt from the implications of Plastic pollution and preserve marine life along with introducing alternative solutions to the green transformation mechanism. On a parallel track, He is the "Young Mediterranean Voices"(YMV) ambassador since 2019, after attending EU - Malta leadership training. In the YMV Egypt context he founded the first English debating Club. Also, He started the plastic pollution movement initiative in the YMV programme to create a plastic free zone for Mediterranean basin countries. In late 2019 he Founded the 1st Med. Green transportation & E-Mobility Conference. .
