Responsibilities have progressively expanded to include diagnostic interpretation, perioperative care, surgical assistance, and supervised procedures. Managed both anterior and posterior segment patients, contributing to improved visual outcomes and overall patient satisfaction.

Phacoemulsification Surgical Experience (Ongoing):

  • Consistently involved in phacoemulsification surgery as part of all clinical rotations.
  • Assisted and independently performed procedures under supervision, handling the complete surgical workflow including patient selection, biometric evaluation, IOL power calculation, intraoperative support, and postoperative management.
  • Familiar with the selection and implantation of premium intraocular lenses, including toric, multifocal, and EDOF IOLs, with particular attention to refractive planning and patient expectation management.

Subspecialty Rotations:

Oculoplasty (5 months):

  • Gained clinical and surgical exposure in managing eyelid disorders, orbital pathologies, and lacrimal system diseases.
  • Assisted in DCRs and periocular trauma management, and evaluated outpatient cases including entropion, ectropion, lid tumors, and infections.

Retina (1 year):

  • Participated in the medical and surgical management of patients with diabetic retinopathy, macular edema, retinal vein occlusion, retinal tears, and other posterior segment diseases.
  • Gained hands-on experience in intravitreal injections, managing pre- and post-injection patients independently under supervision.
  • Observed high-volume vitreoretinal surgeries, including pars plana vitrectomy, silicone oil removal, and membrane peeling, with focused exposure to surgical planning, instrumentation, and intraoperative decision-making.
  • Performed and Interpreted cases undergoing OCT, OCT-A, and fluorescein angiography contributed to diagnosis, staging, treatment planning, and longitudinal follow-up.

Cornea, Glaucoma & Refractive Surgery (1.5 years):

  • Involved in the medical and perioperative management of patients with keratoconus, corneal infections, glaucoma, and refractive errors.
  • Observed anterior segment procedures including trabeculectomy, corneal transplantation, pterygium excision, LASIK/PRK, and ICL implantation, with full involvement in patient workup and follow-up.
  • Performed cyclophotocoagulation procedures for refractory glaucoma, developing experience in laser technique, patient selection, and follow-up evaluation.
  • Skilled in conducting comprehensive preoperative assessments, including corneal topography, tomography (Pentacam), and IOL calculations, with strong familiarity in counseling patients regarding premium lens options.
