Describe formation samples while drilling and integrate between gas analysis of chromatograph, drilling
parameters, and LWD to create mud log, and perform well correlations.
Co-operation with drilling supervisor in decisions about suspending, continuing drilling and decreasing or raising
the MW.
Supervising mud logging, MWD services personnel and monitoring quality control in relation to these services.
Verify that all sensors are working properly.
Witness the Wireline logging operations with different tools (Gr, Resistivity, sonic, Density and Neutron, MDT,
CMR, VSP, FMI and coring Conventional Core & (CST), and preforming quick log analysis.
Casing point determination, Target zone drilling control and witness LOT operation.
Monitor all operations data related to the pore pressure and fracture gradient;
Well analyzing LWD trends. - Rate of penetration.
Pit level changes. - Caving (both shape and volume).
Incorrect hole fill while tripping. - Mud density in/out.
Kick or influx. - Mud chloride content.
ROV videos in riser-less section. - Mudgas (background and connection gas trend)
Calculate shale pore pressures from LWD, Mechanical, and Shale Density data (GR, Res and/or Sonic, RHOB)
using the current model (i.e., calibrated to all available data points), compare it with the pre-drill predictions and
identify deviations.
Calculate fracture gradient from real-time pore pressure and vertical stress using the current model (i.e., calibrated
to all available data points), compared to pre-drill predictions and identify deviations.
Update pressure and fracture models as new information (LOT's, MDTs, RFTs, WL data, etc.) becomes available.
Analyze LOT's and summarize interpretation (procedure to be discussed) and update Fracture Gradient model.
Ensure all latest model updates and interpretations are communicated on the rig to the offshore team.
