Associate Professor at Centre for Agricultural Planning and Development, Institute of National Planning (INP), Egypt BRCGS’ Approved Training Partner (ATP), Global Standard Food Safety, Issue 9 and Global Standard Storage and Distribution, Issue 4 FSPCA Lead Instructor for Preventive Controls for Human Food After graduation from Ain Shams University, Agriculture Faculty, Food Science Department (1999), I obtained my Master (2005) and my 1st PhD (2013) degrees in the fields of economics of dairy processing and economics of total quality management in dairy processing plants from Zagazig University. In addition, in 2020, I earned my 2nd PhD in the field of “Measuring the Technical Efficiency of SMEs in Tanzania: An Econometric Study.”. Furthermore, I have diversified and interrelated linkages with the food industry, where I worked as a quality controller and chemist at ENJOY for food industries, UHT milk and juices (2003–2008), before working as a dairy technology specialist (2008–2012), then as the manager of the technical support and quality systems department (2012–2016) at the Food Technology and Argo Industries Centre (FAITC), affiliated with the ministry of trade and industry. After that, I joined the Institute of National Planning as a lecturer (2016–2021) and then an associate professor (2021– now), teaching and searching in the fields of planning for agricultural development, TQM, and the economics of food safety. These experiences in the food industry qualified me to work at the German GOPA Worldwide Consultations as the national consultant for the food sector in Egypt, within the giz-Private Sector Innovation (PSI) project. Over and above, I am an Approved Training Partner (ATP) with the Brand Reputation through Compliance Global standard (BRCGS) for the Global Standards Food Safety, issue 9, and Storage and Distribution, issue 4. Moreover, I am a lead instructor for preventive controls for human food for the standardized curriculum that was prepared by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) and approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). For that, I have been working as a food safety trainer and consultant at USAID-trade, USDA-TAIB projects, and the Food Export Council (FEC). As well, I worked as a food safety consultant and trainer for other internationally funded projects, i.e., USAID-SEED, USAID-FAS, and USAID-ERAS, helping food enterprises optimize processes, increase their product compatibility with local and international standards, and reduce defected food, which is crucial to strengthening the sustainability of resources.
