GT Fact Finder / Assessment Engineer

  • Perform Full assessment of the Gas Turbines (AE94.3A \ SGT5-4000F - AE94.2) in the form of standard Minor, Major, or Hot Gas Path inspections in addition to specific/focused type inspections.
  • Technical support and fact finding activities on-site; supervising Gas Turbine maintenance activities, providing technical support to site manager and field service specialists.
  • Preparation of GT documents including scope of work, problem, inspection and site activities reports.
  • Use of critical thinking/analysis to break down problems, evaluate solutions and make decisions while troubleshooting interfacing directly with the customer and referring to the engineering head office in Genoa.
  • Supervise standard NDT (Non Destructive Tests) during GT overhauls.
  • Provide on-site technical support to the customer during overhauls on activities carried out by third parties.

Achievements:

  • Performed 50+ different type of inspections across 18 sites, in 11 countries (Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe).
  • Directly involved in obtaining a new customer/contract for the company through representation in the form of inspection and surveying the customer site (Nigeria).
  • Led the first modification and upgrade activities for a client's AE94.2 Flame tube spares performed completely in Ansaldo's Middle East Service Hub (MESH) in Dubai - UAE.
  • Produced new findings during inspections on 2 GT components that led to the introduction of Technical modifications to the customer units in Mirfa site (Abu Dhabi - UAE).

Mechanical Engineer (MEP) trainee

  • Worked with and assisted an experienced MEP coordinator in managing and coordinating the work of subcontractors at the project site
  • Inspection of HVAC systems installation including Air Handling Units, Fan Coil Units, ducting, chillers station and pipes, heat exchangers, humidifiers, water heaters and the control system for them
  • Coordination of the external piping & network layouts including water supply, drainage & storm, chilled water, firefighting, irrigation, and electrical (LV& LC)
  • Inspection of purchased mechanical machines and equipment as well as their installation and connection
  • Formulated reports of the pending MEP work in all the buildings and initiated the necessary actions towards completing them
  • Responsible of solving clashes reported between the MEP services in the site
  • Assisted in composing technical queries for modification of final designs
  • Solely responsible for handling and revising the ID shop drawings that requires MEP coordination and signature from the subcontractors

Achievements:

  • Gained technical knowledge of HVAC systems, Plumbing systems, Fire Fighting systems and Building management system (BMS) controls
  • Reduced the pending clash reports by 60%, coordinated and solved 10 clashes before they are reported since joining the site
  • Discovered wrong installation of booster pump by subcontractors and took action to rectify it

Achievements:

  • Collaborating with experienced engineers and technicians at the mechanical department of ASAB-1&2 gas processing plants, involving several ongoing projects and routine maintenance activities
  • Participated in the performance analysis of lubrication pump used for a Rolls Royce gas generator and improved efficiency by fixing leakages
  • Led a case study on the failure and fixing of a compressor unit
  • Obtained vast knowledge in natural gas production, treatment and processing to form NGL
