• Develop and implement consistent policies and procedures that guide and support functions of the Clinical Engineering Department across the Region .
• Develop and meet goals with respect to biomedical technology in support of strategic plan.
• Provide clinical engineering resources to manage medical equipment planning for construction projects involving biomedical equipment at all sites as requested.
• Provide management of equipment performance and service vendors to maintain the highest standards of patient care. When products or services are found to be unsatisfactory, the director is responsible for expediting solutions, including replacing equipment or terminating service agreements.
• Integrate management of biomedical equipment maintenance at all sites.
• Optimize annual capital purchasing power by identifying opportunities to consolidate purchases across sites in the Region .

• Developing and implementing the Debarment management programe with KPIs to monitor the Progress/ achievement Progress.
• Determine proper staffing levels to provide equipment support services at assigned accounts; distribute personnel based on preventive and corrective maintenance workloads.
• Review productivity and efficiency work data for all staff and identify areas where improvements can be made to maximize staffing resources.
• Meet regularly with department site supervisors/team leaders to review previous work completion data, future scheduled work assignments, quality assurance issues, new equipment inspections, and any other projects or equipment support needs.
• Work with department site supervisors/team leaders and clinical engineers on projects related to new equipment acquisition, installation, renovation, modification, or removal. May directly oversee the progress and status of such projects.
• Determine training needs for staff technicians and engineers and recommend/implement arrangements as needed to obtain necessary training, test equipment, and tools needed to expand the areas of technical services provided by the department.
• Ensure that work requests from equipment users are responded to within established timeframes.
• Participate in development of departmental and hospital-based continuous quality improvement initiatives.

• Provide technical support for clinical equipment throughout healthcare system as assigned, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, maintaining parts inventories, performing rounds in customer areas, and participating in on-call rotation.

• Document all actions and test results according to department policy, using computerized maintenance management software applications and other standard office software applications.

• Coordinate and/or participate in requests for special projects, such as new equipment acquisition purchase planning, development of bid specifications, analysis of vendor proposals, installation planning, acceptance testing, renovations, equipment upgrades, and equipment disposal.

• Developing preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines; train all technical staff on proper testing and other procedures to be followed when performing scheduled maintenance on devices maintained by the department.

• Participate in development of department- and system-wide quality assurance indices or continuous quality improvement initiatives related to the proper use or maintenance and repair of patient care equipment. Generate reports based upon the assessment of this data. Assist with assessment of department performance against quality standards, including performing quality audits as required.

• Perform incident investigation and equipment performance analysis as required.

• Developing patient care equipment safety and device-specific in-service programs for presentation to the clinical staff throughout all locations, and perform in-service education to patient care equipment users as needed.

• Develop or review emergency and safety plans related to use and operation of critical patient care equipment.

• Review patient care equipment safety alerts and recall notices and take appropriate actions to ensure the affected equipment is tested or removed from service, where appropriate.

• Develop evaluation criteria to compare patient care equipment and devices under consideration for purchase.

• Assist the Engineering director and other Clinical Engineering management staff in the evaluation and supervision of technical staff as they perform duties and responsibilities related to technical support, maintenance, and repair of patient care equipment.
