contributing original scientific knowledge about the formation, distribution, and exploration of mineral resources. My research responsibilities are:
- Perform geological, structural and regolith mapping;
- Perform detailed geological data review to determine prospective targets;
- Oversee soil sampling, trenching and various of exploratory drilling;
- Monitor and control varied samples, ensure adequate insertion of QAQC samples, and perform geological interpretation;
- collect, compile, analyze exploration data, and recommend appropriate follow up programs;
- Prepare budgets as well as complete projects on budget and within planned time frames;
- Write comprehensive reports on a scheduled basis for review by senior management;
- Perform any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by supervisor;
- Participate in the planning of annual program of mineral exploration department.- Identify minerals and rocks
- Collaborate with senior staff geologists to develop the annual program for the Mineral Exploration Department, and present and discuss the plan with the Director General of the Geological Research Authority of Sudan (GRAS).
- Participate in all departmental field trips, contributing to geological investigations and field operations.
- Supervise all departmental field activities, overseeing every aspect of mineral exploration including planning, logistics, data collection, and field safety.
- Review, revise, and approve technical reports generated by the department and affiliated projects to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Serve as a member of the Technical Committee (TC) at the Ministry of Minerals (MoM), responsible for the evaluation and approval of geological and exploration reports submitted by all mining companies operating in Sudan.
- Manage a team of approximately 25 geologists, overseeing their daily operations, evaluating their monthly and annual reports, and coordinating their participation in annual fieldwork programs.
- Conduct geological, structural, and regolith mapping to support mineral exploration programs.
- Perform detailed reviews of geological data to identify and evaluate prospective mineral targets.
- Supervise exploration activities, including soil sampling, trenching, and various types of exploratory drilling.
- Monitor and manage sample collection processes, ensuring the correct insertion of Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) samples, and perform accurate geological interpretations.
- Collect, compile, and analyze exploration data, and provide informed recommendations for follow-up programs based on results.
- Prepare and manage exploration budgets, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Produce comprehensive technical reports on a scheduled basis for review by senior management and relevant authorities.
- Carry out additional related duties as assigned by supervisors, supporting the broader objectives of the department.
- Actively participate in the planning and development of the annual program for the Mineral Exploration Department.
- Identify and classify various rocks and minerals, contributing to accurate geological assessments.
- Conduct detailed geological mapping to document lithology, structure, alteration, and mineralization features.
- Perform stream sediment and soil sampling to identify geochemical anomalies and potential mineralized zones.
- Carry out litho-geochemical sampling in promising areas to support exploration targeting and mineral evaluation.
- Identify and delineate anomalous zones for follow-up exploration through pitting and trenching.
- Supervise Reverse Circulation (RC) and Diamond Drilling (DD) operations, ensuring accurate geological logging, sampling, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
