Being a co-founder of a private institute in Egypt that teaches proven-benefit instructed second language acquisition (ISLA) for hundreds of middle aged persons, my leadership skills were introduced to me. Leadership soft skills were part of our monthly audit when evaluating teachers and supervisors. I practically understand that the inspiring leader has to have sets of goals including, but not limited to, helping employees reach their goals, coaching, mentoring, delegation, facilitating, giving clear feedback, team building, supervising, encouraging, collaboration and problem solving.
Throughout my role as a co-founder, I followed a management policy that focused on engagement of employees to achieve an autonomous work environment. Moreover, recognition and feedback, as excellent ways of motivating the whole team, were applied.
If I were not a physician, I would have been a molecular cytogeneticist. I am fascinated by gene functions and how tiny
changes in bases, measured in nanometers, can adversely affect human generations
I also enjoy long walks, fishing, reading and mushroom hunting.
