A Multifaceted Marine Pioneer
Born on the 18th of February, 1980, in the vibrant city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Karim El Gendy's journey is one of passion, innovation, and continual growth. Fluent in Arabic, English, and German, his linguistic prowess was honed at Inlingua International Language School in Germany, culminating in a master’s degree in Hotel and Tourism Management in 1998-1999.
Karim's marine adventure began at the tender age of 16, amidst the underwater paradise of the Red Sea. What started as a fervent passion for scuba diving soon blossomed into a distinguished career. By 2016, he had achieved over 3600 logged scuba dives, skillfully instructing in 9 different diving specialties and shaping the futures of over 100 students.
His entrepreneurial spirit and extensive marine expertise led him to co-found several groundbreaking companies. Hydro Sports Group stands out as a beacon in the marine luxury service sector in the Middle East and GCC, arguably gaining global recognition. In addition, X Flight Events and Neutlex Media Production mark his foray into marine stunt coordination and digital media production, respectively. Parallel to these ventures, Karim lends his vast knowledge as a marine consultant.
Karim's credentials are as diverse as they are impressive. He is a certified General Marine Trainer by The International Water Sports Federation and authorized Marine Master Trainer by the Dubai Maritime City Authority. His prowess in Hydro flight is affirmed by his Master Trainer certification from Powerfly USA.
As an Open Water Scuba Diving Instructor accredited by SSI & IDEA, he is a member of the Emirates Chamber Association and the Egyptian Diving and Watersports Association.
His expertise extends to specialized areas such as deep diving, emergency first aid, and several niche diving specialties, garnering him numerous certifications and accolades across various roles, including AOWD instructor and Power Yacht Skipper.
