Khadega Eldewehi has worked in civic society for almost 15 years. Khadega obtained her bachelor's degree in agriculture from the University of Gezira's Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Department of Agriculture Extension. Khadega currently works at FAO Sudan as a gender expert. She works to achieve gender equality in agriculture and natural resources, particularly in food security concerns, as well as to empower women in rural areas. She also worked for the Sudanese Organization for Research and Development (SORD) as a project manager. It aimed to improve women's access to rights in Sudan. She is a trainer on the rights of women and youth, gender issues, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She has more than 20 years of volunteer work in Sudan, in addition to great research knowledge and experience as a research assistant in the human rights sector. She engages in different Sudanese women's and youth initiatives. She is concerned her efforts to empower women on several levels.
- Establishing project implementation plans and milestones for the project.
- Develop and submit quality project annual plans with the respective phased budget.
- Develop and share a monthly project work plan.
- Coordinating and overseeing project activities and budgets with the project’s team and thematic leader.
- organizing meetings, gatherings, and workshop activities, covering the full lifecycle of activities (including, but not limited to, drafting invitations, distribution lists, agendas, and logistical notes, as well as substantive preparations for and facilitation during the project’s events);
- producing meeting summaries, reports, briefs, and analysis papers from consultations, meetings, and events.
- Implementing the project plan in full coordination with the sub-contractors and other stakeholders.
- Organizing monitoring meetings and preparing monthly and quarterly reports to be submitted to the Executive Director.
- Coordinate with the Finance Officer in all aspects of budget monitoring and financial management, including the collection of financial liquidation documents regarding project expenditures from the subcontractors.
- Facilitating regular reviews and reflections with the project beneficiaries and subcontractors as well as providing technical support and guidance to them.
I was working as a freelancer in areas of women's rights and youth issues, such as the African Youth Charter, the 1325 resolution and protocol on the rights of women in Africa, and youth roles in peacebuilding. In addition to a part-time job with Sudanese civil society intuitive in a project named Towards Institutional Reforms in Sudan, the project was aimed to foster inclusive debate and analysis among a broad section of Sudanese civil society towards a comprehensive program of institutional reforms that would ensure peaceful transformation and a viable, democratic Sudan.
