My favourite hobby as a child and teenager was reading. At an early age, I fell in love with Enid Blyton's fairy tales and and in middle school I nearly readl all her mysteries, Malory Towers and others. Later I was introduced to Louisa May Alcott's 'Little Women'' and I had to look for the whole series to read: Good Wives, Jo's Boys and Little men; I am 52 now and I still enjoy reading these stories. 'Little Women' is a novel which though read so many times, you manage to cry each time when Beth passes away and feel mad at Jo and sorry for Laurie when she rejects him. Reading is never just a story; when I read a story I feel the characters are there and around; I end up living their happiness and their sorrows. I experience their emotions during my journey. I am not a big fan of horror or Science Fiction novels; I prefer social, religious and those with morals. I read for many authors of different backgrounds: Francine Rivers, Dan Walsh, Beverley Louis, and of course Dickens, Bronte, and many others
Walking is my way of feeling relieved. It is my self-time which helps me o relax and enjoy myself; it helps me feel that I 'own' my time; I love walking in parks; enjoy green open areas and nature. Swimming is my favourite summer activity; since it is too hot to walk in Cairo except in the early morning or after sunset, swimming is an excellent alternative. I do not have the chance to swim in the sea, but I can go to the pool twice or three times a week. I do not mind going alone.
