Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, and clinical teaching sessions to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.

• Develop, update, and review teaching materials, curricula, and assessment tools in line with current pediatric guidelines and educational best practices.
• Assist in the coordination of teaching schedules and examination logistics.
• Supervise dissertations, research projects, and clinical audits conducted by students and trainees.
• Provide mentorship and academic advising to students, fostering professional development and career guidance.
• Organize and participate in academic events such as seminars, workshops, and case discussions.

Clinical Care

• Provide expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management for critically ill pediatric patients requiring intensive care.
• Lead daily, multidisciplinary ward rounds, and coordinate individualized care plans.
• Oversee emergency admissions, retrievals, and inter-facility transfers, ensuring timely intervention.
• Perform and supervise advanced life support procedures, including airway management, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, and hemodynamic monitoring.

Leadership and Governance

• Act as a clinical leader within the PICU, fostering collaboration among physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.
• Participate in departmental clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and morbidity and mortality reviews.
• Develop, review, and implement clinical protocols and care pathways in line with best practice guidelines.

Teaching and mentorship

• Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, fellows, residents, and nursing teams.
• Provide structured teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate medical trainees.
• Support simulation-based training and skill development in pediatric critical care.

Research and Development

• Engage in audit, research, and evidence generation relevant to pediatric intensive care.
• Contribute to publications, presentations, and collaboration with national and international critical care networks.

On-Call Duties

• Participate in the consultant on-call rota, ensuring availability for emergency cases, and urgent consultations.
