- VMware Cloud Foundationis a multi-cloud platform that provides a full-stack hyperconverged infrastructure(HCI) that is made for modernizing Data centers and deploying container-based applications.

- VCF is based on different components like vSphere(compute), vSAN(Storage), NSX-T(Networking), and Aria Suite.

- SRE Engineer role’s day to day activities:

· Assessment & Remediation: Engage in customers’ environments and perform a Pre-upgrade health check on the VCF and all its components. In case any issues or failures are faced, troubleshooting and investigations should take place in order to fix them.

· Then, Upgrade Step: Perform the upgrade of VMware Cloud Foundation(VCF) including all the mentioned components.[ vSphere(compute), vSAN(Storage), NSX-T(Networking), and Aria Suite.]

· Finally, Post-Checks step: Running Health-checks procedures and scripts to collect the health checks reports to make sure that the customer’s environment is green.

- Networker is a backup and recovery software from Dell Technologies that centralizes, automates, and accelerates backup and recovery with a wide range of data protection options to safeguard critical business.

- Networker Technical Support Engineer role’s day to day activities:

· Assisting customers with installation, Configuration, and Troubleshooting of the Networker backup Software.

· Diagnosing and resolving Technical Issues and possible bugs by collaborating with Development/Engineering Team.

· Providing Guidance and best practices for backup’s configuration and restoration processes.

· Backup Management: Planning, scheduling, and monitoring backups of different system’s data to ensure availability and integrity.

· Storage Provisioning: Allocating and managing different Storage resources (Dell Unity, Dell Xtreme IO) to meet the needs of different departments.

· Performance Monitoring: Monitoring Storage and Backup systems to identify and address performance issues.

· Troubleshooting: Investigating and resolving Storage and Backup-related issues.

· Capacity Planning: Analyzing Storage usage trends and forecasting future needs.

· Disaster Recovery: In case of disasters or system failures , restore the functionality of the system in short times to make sure of business continuity.(Networker, DataDomain)

· Hardware/Software Support: Diagnosing and Troubleshooting Hitachi-Storage different types of issues.(Ex: Disk failures, Connectivity issues, Performance degradation,…)

· Storage Deployment: Installing and configuring storage hardware and software components.

· Storage Upgrade: Perform the upgrade of the Storage Server with all its hardware and software components.

· Knowledge Transfer: Perform a residency Knowledge Transfer to different customers.
