Work history

PhD

Faculty of Medicine, RWTH Aachen University – Germany
  • During the PhD course I gained experience on designing, conducting, monitoring, and evaluating various functionalized nanoparticles. Such developed nanoparticles were incorporated into electrospun nanofibers as potential wound dressing mats using various electrospinning techniques such as monolayer electrospinning, coaxial electrospinning, layer-by-layer electrospinning and dual spinneret electrospinning techniques. The developed nanofibrous scaffolds were characterized morphologically, chemically, mechanically and their thermal stability were investigated. Drug release, antimicrobial properties and biocompatibility including MTT, fluorescence and SEM imaging were conducted.
  • Projects: 2024/2026: PI of a Project 49179 provided by STDF-Egypt (2024) for 2 years, under the call of One Health Research and Innovation, which in the area of Photodynamic therapy against multidrug resistance pathogens: Studying the augmented antimicrobial photodynamic inactivation of nanoformulations against isolated resistant clinical pathogens
