Cathodic Protection and Corrosion Control Specialist with over 20 years of experience in pipeline integrity, CP system design, ECDA, ILI coordination, and storage tank protection. Proven track record in leading CP operations, developing innovative solutions, optimizing corrosion prevention strategies, and overseeing major inspection projects for large-scale oil & gas facilities.
Recognized for technical leadership, problem-solving, and introducing modern CP methodologies aligned with AMPP,ISO,EN international standards.
A.Developed specifications for cathodic protection materials and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability. For example we replaced High silicon chromium cast iron anodes that were exhausted in a very short period of time with mixed metal oxide anodes. These anodes have been installed and proved to be a better replacement for High Silicon cast iron anodes and are currently adopted in our new ground beds.
B. Installing cathodic protection coupons to facilitate measuring instant off C.P readings for piping network which is not feasible inside sidi-kerir terminal network.
C. Proposing to install Electrical resistance (ER) probes to monitor internal corrosion inside stagnant pipes.
D. Using epoxy liquid coat instead of cold applied PE tapes that were used before , to minimize the likelihood of C.P shielding occurrence which was observed to be a problem under disbonded cold applied tapes.
E. Supervision of Above ground storage tank coating activities during the major overhaul. This includes performing all necessary tests and reporting to ensure that the coating system will operate satisfactory during its intended service lifetime.
F. Installation of several deep ground beds with a depth of approximately 100 meters to ensure that the ground beds are located inside SUMED pipelines right of way instead of placing them in neighboring lands. The installation was done as per AMPP SP0572-2024 standard.
G. Sealing tank chime areas to minimize corrosion that was realized due to water ingress in this area according to API 651 recommendations.
H. Inspection of meter prover pipeline using Pulsed Eddy Current technique (PET) to assess the pipeline condition and ensure that no corrosion under thermal insulation occurred for the pipeline.
