Ø Working closely with peers and colleagues, ensure that the operates as a cohesive, integrated team which has a positive impact on University operations and student experience.

Ø Ensure that policy and practice across in the unit’s work demonstrates as high degree of responsiveness and flexibility in finding innovative and progressive approaches and solutions that meet statutory and governance requirements, reflects sector best practice and supports University priorities.

Ø Take a lead role in continually reviewing, improving and updating policy and practice related to the unit. Adopt a responsive and proactive approach to policy development and improving and updating systems of work. Ensure that new or changed processes are implemented in a timely fashion and effectively communicated within the unit, faculties and other University departments.

Ø Ensure that a regular programme of training and updating in different areas of policy and practice is available for colleagues across the University including Academic staff. This may include providing executive briefings to senior University staff, developing comprehensive policy guidance and delivering practical training.

Ø Develop and maintain effective systems for management information in order to meet internal and external requirements for evidence, data and statistics. Ensure that IT solutions are utilised appropriately.

Ø Contribute to University projects relevant to own area of expertise.

Ø Communicate complex information to a wide variety of audiences to influence and achieve change where necessary and deliver results.
