- When Ministry of health in Egypt initiated an obligatory multidisciplinary team committee to discuss diagnosis and treatment plan for cancer patients in 2020 in all oncology centers in Egypt, our Hospital Director instruct me to put the fundamentals of the MDT committee which was new and unprecedented in our institute and to form an MDT coordination team
- The MDT coordination team involved me (the head of the team), an assistant (non-medical assistant to help organize meetings and paper works) a resident (there is residents' rotation from all medical departments of the hospital, and he/she helps in cases presentations and decision forms)
- Since then, our team manages to present and manage hundreds pf patients' cases via MDT meetings
- Our job was to organize patients' cases, make a power point presentation with these cases, help in consultants discussion, form and write the decision form and follow up these decisions to make sure it has been followed.
