IT Infrastructure & Operations Specialist
Experienced IT Infrastructure & Systems Specialist with 18 years of expertise in maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of enterprise IT environments. Proven ability to manage and support cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), virtualization (VMware ESXi), storage solutions (EMC, Nasuni AWS Cloud), and enterprise applications (Exchange Server O365, Active Directory, SQL Server 2018). Adept at implementing robust backup, disaster recovery, and network security strategies, ensuring seamless IT operations across the MEI region.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
• Exchange Server O365, Azure,AWS, and Active Directory across the entire MEI region.
• VMware ESXi 6.5: Install, prepare new machines, troubleshoot issues, and manage resources (e.g., adding hard disks or RAM).
Backup and Data Management:
• Perform online backups and restore data from Live Data and Deep Archive on Nasuni on AWS Cloud.
• Daily monitoring and updating of VEEAM & Backup replication status for all local servers (VMs on VMware ESXi 6.5).
• Safely backup and restore all company application databases from SQL 2018.
System and Network Maintenance:
• Regularly check, follow-up, and troubleshoot the EMC Storage system connected to three host servers via VMware ESXi 6.5.
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
• Monitor performance to ensure network system availability and reliability.
Vendor and Contract Management:
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
• Manage and control Avaya IP phone system for all employees at Fugro SAE Egypt.
• Follow up and check all IT systems maintenance contracts (Printers, CCTV, and attendance systems).
Incident Reporting and Future Solutions:
• Report major incidents within the MEI region and recommend future solutions.
• Ensure network expansion projects align with company plans.
Training and Knowledge Sharing:
• Conduct training sessions and create new knowledge base articles for the IT service team.
• Apply Fugro standards for all IT equipment at Fugro SAE Egypt.
Security and Compliance:
• Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team.
• Apply Fugro standard OS updated images and security patches to all company machines.
Asset Management:
• Record and maintain an up-to-date document of all IT assets (Laptops, Desktops, Mobile Phones, Monitors, etc.).
• Track and document all IT equipment within the project.
Support and Troubleshooting:
• Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting for all tickets within the MEI region.
• Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure successful network infrastructure changes.
Collaboration and Evaluation:
• Collaborate with vendors to evaluate new technology and make recommendations to management.
Company Overview: A large factory located in Ain-Sokhna, equipped with approximately 200 desktops and laptops.
Responsibilities:
Symantec Antivirus V10.1 Server:
• Implementation and administration, including setup, troubleshooting failures, configuring Symantec firewall policies, and resolving connection issues between the server and clients.
Network Monitoring:
• Monitor servers for dirty shutdowns, clean shutdowns, service failures, and trace failures using Event Viewer and MOM 2007 reports.
Client Support:
• Resolve TCP/IP issues, network adapter problems, Outlook archiving issues, and connection failures with the Exchange server.
• Perform Windows and software installations and create backup images for similar types of PCs.
Printer Management:
• Install new local, shared, and network printers (e.g., HP, Xerox).
• Troubleshoot and fix printer failures, including network and sharing issues.
Group Policy Management:
• Modify and deploy Group Policies as per organizational requirements to sites, domains, or OUs.
SQL Server Administration:
• Setup and configure SQL 2000 on domain clients.
File Sharing Server Administration:
• Manage three network drives for each user: user drive (personal documents), department drive (departmental share), and public drive (shared by all domain users).
• Handle all file sharing failures on client machines.
Exchange Server Management:
• Install and manage Exchange 2003, including creating and modifying email accounts.
ISA Server Administration:
• Administer and support ISA 2004 server for users.
Antivirus Management:
• Administer and support McAfee Antivirus V8.
General IT Support:
• Provide comprehensive IT support for the factory's desktop and laptop environment.
