- Issuing short and long plans for the Energy conservation in American University in Cairo, in current job, I am using all my previous Experience in the Building Automation
- Following the EN15232 and its equivalent guide issued by Siemens BT to conserve the Energy consumption in our 11 buildings
- After modifications in HVAC and controls, 30% of the total heat energy were saved
- Direct activities of Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, and HVAC Supervisor & Technicians in the Hard Services Department - Daily
- Develop plans and specifications for utilities systems, upgrading and expansion - Monthly
- Analyze utility tariffs and rate increases - before and after changes for AUC and DT Campuses
- Review results of work order control program for AC shop - Weekly
- Investigate energy conservation projects for implementation
- Analyze existing building systems for the purpose of improving operating efficiency - Monthly
- Record, monitor and analyze monthly the AUC consumption of electric energy, hot and chilled water, domestic water and nature gas

- Follow up Utility plant contractor's performance in accordance with BOO contract terms and conditions and recommend technical and commercial actions/solutions when required
- Review and process monthly contractor's invoices
- Evaluate contractor's claims
- As a member of carbon footprint team, preparing the AUC energy consumption data and share in calculating the carbon dioxide emissions
- Prepare and maintain the University's Energy Conservation Action Plan (ECAP) for short, intermediate and long-range goals and monitor the plan's funding
- Analyze and identify ways and means (technical and procedural) to improve the effectiveness of energy consumption on campus
- Participate in the preparation of utility budgets and cost estimates, specifications, drawings and construction documents for maintenance, repair and alterations of University buildings and infrastructure
- Manage and coordinate the University's sustainability programs and initiatives
- Prepare grant submittals for funding opportunities associated with sustainability, energy conservation and other facilities-associated initiatives
- Direct the maintenance, repair, modification, and troubleshooting of building control systems to assure reliable and efficient operation of Campus Buildings
- Manage the campus building automation systems including energy submetering systems and energy data acquisition systems to optimize energy and equipment utilization
- Evaluate situations and solve problems, organize work and determining priorities for self and others while dealing with large volumes of information in a multi-project environment
- Supervise journeypersons, trades staff and outside contractors, reviewing and overseeing related construction projects, re-commissioning existing systems within the context of maintenance, managing operational and capital budgets, scheduling and planning work, using appropriate computer systems, and effectively communicating with customers as well as Facilities Services' staff.
